Connecting 4 batteries in series is a straightforward process that helps increase voltage for devices that require higher power. This method involves linking the positive terminal of one battery to the negative terminal of the next, ensuring that each battery contributes to the total voltage output.
Make a series of more than two batteries by connecting the terminals. Take jumper cables and clamp around the positive terminal of one battery and the negative of the battery next to it. Repeat the connection process until all of the batteries you want to connect in a series are connected by jumper cables.
In each of the examples, the 4 batteries are identified as A, B, C, and D. Example 1, shown in Figure 4, has 2 pairs of series connected batteries joined in a single parallel connection. In this type of arrangement, we refer to each pair of series connected batteries as a "string". Batteries A and C are in series. Batteries B and D are in series.
Make a series by connecting multiple parallel connections. If you have two sets of batteries connected in parallel, you can connect them to form a series. Use a jumper cable to connect a positive terminal on one parallel bank to a negative terminal on another parallel bank.
